Ever brush your hair, notice hair in your brush or comb and freak out?? Well, unless it’s coming out in chunks theres no need for concern. On average it’s normal for us to shed up to 100 hairs a day if you brush or comb it regularly!
1. You just removed a long term style.
As I mentioned in the intro, we’re supposed to shed 100 hairs a day. Once you remove hair that has been in braids, an updo, or a style where you can’t actively brush/comb your hair, your hair will have some shedding to do. If your hair has been away for 1 month, expect 1 months worth of shedding, so on and so forth.
2. Taking new medicine.
Taking new medicine can put your hormones out of wack! This can also be another reason for some shedding as your hair readjust to the new chemicals in your body. Consult with your physician if you feel the shedding is in abnormal amounts.
3. Stress.
Are you just getting over a break up? Anxious about a big test coming up? This can cause more shedding than normal! Make sure you drink a lot of water, and practice breathing and meditation to reduce stress or anxiety levels. Consider consulting with a therapist if you need help reducing stress levels.
I hope this blog clears the air about hair shedding!
